Alanna Books is a small independent publisher – at this stage very small – but we intend to grow over the coming months.
Alanna is the Irish word for ‘child’ and is also used as an endearment – much as you would say ‘sweetheart’ or ‘baby’.
We chose the name because we wanted to be clear that we had the needs of children at the centre of our publishing philosophy – the needs of all children.
We aim to produce and select quality books that celebrate children, their individuality and achievements, and which support their social and emotional development.

Look out for our new exciting title (click on ‘new titles’). It is called My Friend Jamal and celebrates the friendship of two young boys growing up together in Britain.
